I'm the volunteer IT guy for my church. I just installed the HP 2600n on the network. Everything installed fine and is working well.
All PCs are running Windows XP Home.

There are 3 or 4 people who will be using this printer and I thought it would be a good idea to have separator pages printed between the jobs.
I created a .sep file with the appropriate codes, yet nothing is printed (not even a blank page). The simple .sep file did work with my Epson 1500.

Upon further investigation on the HP website it appears that this printer doesn't support separator pages due to the lack of support in the printer driver even though that option is included in the printer properties.

Has anyone found a workaround for the lack of this functionality with this printer?

If you send the separation file as PJL/PCL code the printer will probably not respond since it's host-based. It has no formatter therefore it does not understand RAW PCL or PJL/PCL commands. I am unsure how to fix this, but you might need to look into the features of host-driver to see if there are any such options.

I thought this was the case. It would be good if the driver for this printer would at least print a raw text page. You don't need PCL to do that.

However, since this printer isn't going to be used to the extent that the users need to separate the output, I'll just leave it as it is.
