I installed a network printer this AM on a user's machine... when I connected to the printer, it prompted me for administrator credentials (which I stupidly put in, the coffee hadn't kicked in yet!). Anyway, now whenever she prints a job to any network printer, the separator page prints MY username on it, NOT hers! I've tried deleting the printer and reinstalling under her username, but it still doesn't change the name in the banner. How on earth do I get rid of my username on her print jobs? It's happening with TWO people so far.

nope, no luck. the Everyone group is allowed "Print" permissions for the printer. I've deleted & reinstalled the printer, I've changed drivers, searched the registry. My username still prints on her print jobs.

frustrating grrr!

Those separator pages are handled by your print server, not your printers. Look in the docs for whatever print server you run, they're frequently called Banner Pages.

I checked the print server, and I don't think it's anything on there b/c this is only happening for 2 people (out of about 50)... When I view the print queue, when those 2 people print anything, the Owner of the document appears to be ME even though THEY are sending the job from their computers. it's gotta be something somewhere in the registry that's saved my username as having the connection to the printer. I've searched their registry for my username, but never came up with anything useful. I've even deleted my user profile from the PC, but still no joy.

TIA for any suggestions.

If the username is printed on a system generated separator page, the contents of these pages are usually defined by the appropriate .SEP separator file.

These files are usually stored in the WINDOWS\System32 folder.

There is usually one for use with PCL5 drivers (PCL.sep), and several different ones (PScript.sep, sysprint.sep, etc.) which are associated with PostScript drivers.

View these (use NotePad); they may provide some clues?
