Separating First and Last Name 1

Ugh!!! I used to know how to use a query to select text from the left or right up to a space and put it into another column. I cannot recall how to do this. Can anyone help?

This is a 'don't go there' topic. If the universe of users has entered 'fullnames' into a single field, there will be a lot of variations in the manner of entry. If you simply MUST - and are willing to ASSuME there are only two names seperated by one or more spaces:

FName: Left([FullName],
LName: Trim(Right([FullName], Len([FullName]) - Instr([FullName], " &quot+ 1))

Should be sufficient clues here for you to get into REAL trouble with the variations.
