Greetings,

I have an HACMP 5.5 cluster on AIX 5.3. The netmask for all IP numbers (service and heartbeat) all have the same netmask. I need to change the netmask on the heartbeat IPs only. Can anyone provide advice for doing that, please? My current topology:

Cluster Name: cluster1
Cluster Connection Authentication Mode: Standard
Cluster Message Authentication Mode: None
Cluster Message Encryption: None
Use Persistent Labels for Communication: No
There are 2 node(s) and 2 network(s) defined

NODE cnode1:
Network net_diskhb_01
cnode1_dhb /dev/hdiskpower3
Network net_ether_22b
cserv ###.138.12.16
cnode1hb1 192.168.0.2
cnode1hb2 192.168.4.2

NODE cnode2:
Network net_diskhb_01
cnode2_dhb /dev/hdiskpower3
Network net_ether_22b
cserv ###.138.12.16
cnode2hb2 192.168.4.3
cnode2hb1 192.168.0.3

Resource Group cmax_res
Startup Policy Online On Home Node Only
Fallover Policy Fallover To Next Priority Node In The List
Fallback Policy Never Fallback
Participating Nodes cnode1 cnode2
Service IP Label cserv

The mask is currently 255.255.252.0 on all IPs. What I need is the mask on the 192.168.4.x and 192.168.0.x numbers to be 255.255.255.248 and the service IP mask to remain at 255.255.252.0. Any procedures to separate the netmasks, please? I've been unable to find any examples of making this type of change.

Thank you,
Tim

I'm not sure this can be done. Last time I read about this I'm pretty sure it said that netmasks must be the same for all subnets in HACMP.
