Currently our site is Notes 6.5 based, but having trouble getting optimized with Search Engines. Are there tricks and/or help that others are using to achieve high SEO rankings. Any advice is much appreciated.

Getting high Google marks is a goal for many people, but not many people understand what is needed.

Google attaches a lot of importance to the amount of links that a web site gets, but other elements are also of import :

1) how many times the pages are updated in a given time period (careful - twenty times a day is not necessarily good !)

2) how long the domain name has existed and how long it is reserved for (for example, when I paid for a 10-year lease on my domain name, my site got to #1 in its search category in the following week)

3) how many different languages are referenced in the page (ideally there should be only one - any more and Google loses track of where to classify it, which then adversely impacts the ranking)

There, those are some important points I know of. Also, I do not think it is of any use to try and "game the system". Google is quite aware of the efforts made, and regularly changes its algorythms to take "cheating" efforts into account.

However, nothing in your question relates to Lotus Notes per se, so I don't think this is the best forum to ask that question.

Pascal.

I've got nothing to hide, and I'd very much like to keep that away from prying eyes.
