Hi guys
I have been trying to get an IBM USB to parallel port adapter to recognise a sentinel parallel hardware lock.
Has anyone attempted this?

Brett

Burchill,

Don't know what app you have this for? But I would get with the software mfg & request a USB replacement. Albeit at a cost.

I take it you have an adapter.

See this link for what you should be able to get.

Sentinel Hardware Keys

Not a direct answer to your post but I hope you find it assists.

Thanks for the reply.
That is my other option.... for some reason the guys still want to keep the parallel dongle (!?!)
I'll give them the bad news - I had a feeling this adapter would only work for parallel printers, and not all devices.

cheers,
Brett

These Sentinel work at a low hardware and software level, to prevent from pirating. A USB-to-parallel adapter adds a software layer that the security routines will not like.

Talk to the application software vendor. You're not alone with this problem.
