Sent Items Move to Delted Items Folder

Situation: Exchange 2000
Clients: Windows 2000 and Outlook 2000
Some "Sent Email" goes into the Delted Items Folder of the user as UNREAD.
Email in Inbox will move into the Delted Items folder on its own and show as UNREAD.
The users do not use offline folders nor are they laptop used for snyching.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
