sent by comes up as the mail servername instead of username 1

Dear All,

Two cleints have this problem:
when you create a new mail - SENT BY inserts a servername instead of username. I have tried switching id file from the one that was created at the time of the account was created, but this has not solve the problem.
The people who receive emails from these two cleints cannot reply because servername is not a valid user account on our server 4.6. the clients are 4.6

No none of the two users have had thier name changed or recertified.
One day it just started send all emails from these two users: SENT BY MAIL-STANMORE - which is the name of our email server. instead of saying SENT BY PAUL JONES

this can happen when you open the mailbox file on the server instead of on the client,
or if you opened the mailbox on the server first (after creating the users), and then opened the mailbox on the client
(in R4.6, the first time you open a mailbox, it takes the name of the id file that opens the mailbox, and places it in there, so if you open the mailbox on the server first, those things can happen)

Solution :
Create a new mailbox file and change the person document so all new mails are sent to the new mailbox,

then copy & paste all documents from the old mailbox into the new one I have not failed, I just found 10000 ways that don't work

To rectify this open the mailfile that is causing the problem
. goto calander profile there you can change the owner of the mail file.
 
wait!!!

Go to the calendar profile of the mailbox (Actions>Calendar Tools>Calendar Profile. Does it say the server name there?

If so, change it back tot he user name.
 
The problem is caused by the wrong username in the preferences goto tools preferences and depending on the client version look in calendar or mail there you will fins the username. Ensure that this name belongs to the user who is logged on to the client (check current id to see who is actually logged on).
