I am trying to install a newer version of sendmail(sendmail.8.11.5) on a Solaris 2.5 system to deny any outside relaying. I have this installed on other Solaris boxes, not all of them are using the same versioin of Solaris, but a couple of them are, and I didn't have any problems intalling this upgrade. After I gunzip and tar xvf the sendmail file I run "./Build", then I cd to sendmail and run "make install" (without the quotes).I keep receiving this error after I run make install : .../../devtools/bin/install.sh -c -o bin -g bin -m 444 sendmail.0 /usr/share/man/
cat8/sendmail.8
cp: cannot create /usr/share/man/cat8/sendmail.8: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [install-docs] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/export/home/randy/sendmail-8.11.5/obj.SunOS.5.5.1.s
un4/sendmail'
make: *** [install] Error 2
I don't know what this cat8 directory is, but none of the other servers have this on their systems, and sendmail works fine on all of them.
