Want to use Sendmail only to send; have no FQDN or DNS set up. Mail gets off the server but never reaches the destination (machine to be used as an in house web server to run a Perl HTML form mail script , or PHP form mail code)
Can this ever work without DNS or the machine with a proper FQDN ?
Logs and play show mail being sent and the scripts running, but, again, mail never getting there; reading I’ve done suggest it’s an authentication /spam issue based on lack of FQDN.
I’d like not to bother with DNS, etc, and just throw the box on a client’s static IP, move the site files and scripts and tell the name server folks to point to the new server.
