Sendmail without DNS

Does anyone know how I get around DNS with sendmail.

I'm trying to set sendmail up to email to external accounts from my Sco box but the problem is I cannot use DNS I need to use IP addresses.

Has anyone managed to do this and if so what do I need to configure.

As Annihilannic pointed out in your other thread you need to forward your mail to a local mail-server if you are not going to run DNS. Is there an issue with running DNS? You can point your box to a public DNS server if you don't want to configure your own DNS. It's just a matter of finding the public DNS servers (ask Google) and editing your /etc/resolv.conf.

I have the same problem. I don't know SCO as well as I do other OS's I searched for the /etc/resolv.confand it is not to be found. I am using SCO 5.0.5a

You can create /etc/resolv.conf if you have DNS server(s) you can use. Otherwise you will need to maintain /etc/hosts.
