Dear all,
I try to forward all mails for root to our Lotus Notes box here. I run AIX 5.2 system without DNS, only NIS is used for name resolution.
I now added my email adress to the .forward file in root's Homedir.
then i added an entry mydomain.com to the local hosts file.
with this configuration all mails are sent to the lotus notes mail account as wanted.
As i now want to configurer that for about 15 AIX systems, i added the mydomain.com entry to NIS database, and removed it from the local hosts file, as i dont want to have that hosts enty on every machine.
I'm able to ping "mydomain.com" from all machines, but if i try to send mails i get Error:
DSN: Host unknown (Name server: mydomain.com: host not found
If i put the entry again to local hosts it works again!
So: Is there any possibility to let sendmail use NIS for the name resolution ?
