I do not know what i have done wrong when configuring sendmail. Sendmail is set up to perform internal E-mail and send non-internal e-mail to its destination on the WWW. SO if i send an e-mail to bob@hotmail it relays through my sendmail machine and onto the web.

The problem is it will not masquerade. When an e-mail is sent it still shows the hostname of the sendmail machine i.e:
user@host.domain.com.

Does anybody have a great deal of knowledge on masquerading? Could you shre it with me!? Please?

Keep it real!

Add this line:

MASQUERADE_AS(`yourdomain.com')dnl

in /etc/mail/sendmail.mc. Then rewrite it to sendmail.cf with this command:

m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

Your distro may have different paths for these files.
don't forget to restart sendmail so it reads the new configs.
