Hi peeps! I wonder if anyone out there can help with this one. I'm running sendmail 8.12.9 on Solaris 7 with domain name of longcompanyname.com. All is working fine, but now we need to add another zone which is a shortened nickname of our site, called 123.com, and if you mail to user@123.com it should go to user@longcompanyname.com. I've added the new zone into named.conf and setup the relevant site file and can see it resolves OK with nslookup (gives the same IP as you'd expect), but I can't get the email bit to work. I've sent a test mail from command line to my user and the messages keeps going to /dead.letter. I've tested from my POP client and I get :-

j.payne@123.com on 26/08/2003 09:43
A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator.
#5.3.5 SMTP; system config error

I think it maybe something to do with the MX records, but I'm not too sure! Thanks for any help!

Should have to do too much configuring when using more than one domain name. Look at the VirtualUserTable and the Mailertable

Found out how to do it by using "Cw 123.com" within sendmail.cf. Thanks anyway!
