Sendmail SMP issues

howdy guys , my first post so please be gentle

a curious issues has come about, can receive email from multiple domains np at all , however upon sending emails the SMTP server seems to timeout and i get a 60 second warning with outlook and outlook express, i've checked port 25 is open and available via telnet , any other suggestions.

Is there a firewall involved in this anywhere ? Maybe a change was made to a firewall rule/policy somewhere ?
Then you will also want to check your DNS setup.
