I am using a Linux Redhat 8.0 based server on a VPN and am have problems with my sendmail configuration. The sendmail server is receiving messages from the outside and queing them, however the server is not relaying them to users within the network. How do I get the server to relay the messages? Does that make sense? If so, can you please help.

Thank you!

Did you specify procmail as your local mailer? Once sendmail receives mail for local delivery, it passes it to the local mailer which is usually "mail" or "procmail".

Is that specified in sendmail.cf? If so how should I edit sendmail.mc to use procmail as the local mailer?

i run freebsd and in the /etc/mail
edit the access file at the bottom add
192.168.1 RELAY
(your internal ip drop last section)

then run this i think it is the right think for redhat

makemap -v hash /etc/mail/access < /etc/mail/access

worked for me hope it helps

Ben
