Hi all,

I need that the incoming e-mail to be changed:

From
John Doe <jdoe@example.com>
to
Notifications <notification@myexample.com>

I'm trying to masquerade the display name of the sender in the sendmail configuration. I completed it in the domain name but it is still showing the Name of the sender.
Now I'm getting:

From
John Doe <jdoe@example.com>
to
John Doe <notificacions@myexample.com>

but I'm still need to remove John Doe from the display name.
Ant thoughts ?

Thanks in advance!

Ant thoughts ?

Probably as useful as an ant's thoughts, but I think I read somewhere that you can use the comments field in /etc/passwd for such info? May be entirely wrong, however!!

All I ask of you
Is make my wildest dreams come true

create a local account to send from.

I did this when I needed to send stuff to users that I knew would reply back with dumb questions. you can either have the local account email forward to your actual inbox or leave it on the server.

You might have to create some re-write rules in the sendmail.cf file. I am not 100% positive though...

Ooops, sorry. Didn't see that you are wanting this changed for incoming email.

Regards,
Chuck
