sendmail receiving 1000s of spam and used as a relay

Hi All,

I am an entry-level Linux user/admin.
We are using sendmail as our mail server and
a couple of weeks ago it we started receiving
thousands of SPAM -emails daily. Our sendmail is also used
by some other mail-servers (not ours) as a relay agent.

How can we address this ?

What version of sendmail are you running ?

What does your /etc/mail/access file look like ?

This file controls who can and can not relay mail through your sendmail server.
