Hi,

In some of my unix servers sendmail daemon is running as evident from the output of ps -ef |grep sendmail, but on sending a mail, e. g. echo "Hello" |mail <email address> I get no mail. Please what could be wrong.

Regards,
Chike.

Hi,

Check your /etc/mail directory permission. Can you post it here, please?

Hi,

Do you have '/etc/mail/local-host-names' and '/etc/mail/trusted-users' files? If you do, can you post the permission, please?

Hi,

You need to check directory use by sendmail and make sure the directory is not world writable. Try google your error as well.
