sendmail & phpbb

Hi.

I have tried install of phpbb and mailing out from windows relatively successfully.

I have now tried phpbb now on my linux server running 9.3 suse

It seems that mails only are seen "locally" from within.

I have installed sendmail.

Please any firewall suggestions, email dns settings, etc phpbb config settings would be a great help to have email actually be sent out to someone.

I have set up a mx record hoepfully correctly. Any example of that would be great (i don't know if that's the problem tho)

You probably need to tell sendmail what your SMTP server is, google for "sendmail smarthost" for how to set that. You also need to make sure sendmail is running in daemon mode, or else your mail will simply sit in queue.
