Hello all,
I am fairly new to the Linux world so bare with me,
The problem: We currently have a network set up using a Watchguard Firebox II. Our trusted network is the local network with all of our servers, etc. behind it in a Class A 10.x.x.x range. We also have a new webserver on the DMZ or "optional" port in a class C 192.168.10.x range. our outside address range is also different. We use Network Address translation for an internal Exchange server on the trusted (local network) for our primary email service. All of our users use Outlook for clients to connect to this. We also have a service that uses emails to send out to the internet to a fax provider. currently we are using our ISP's mail server (relaying through it). We would like to be able to set up sendmail on our new web server to email out these emails that get sent to our fax company instead of our ISP's. Our webservice also requires emails sent from the webserver(DMZ) to be routed internally back to the exchange server on the local network. Our DNS server is also the same server as the exchange server. We currently use it to forward all DNS requests from the internal network to our providers.
What I need to know: I have read a few different articles on how to configure sendmail to relay mail however I haven't had much success.
If someone could detail the process for me in one email/article link I'd appreciate it.
The part I am stuck at currently is that my webserver (which we will call testweb) will allow me to send out emails to the outside world but does not allow me to send emails to our internal domain (jvk.net currently) Sendmail gives me an uinknown user error when i try this through telnet.
Currently I have our internal MX record set to our exchange server but nothing set for the testweb on our dmz other than a host entry.
Does anyone have any thoughts ?
