sendmail install

I am rather new to linux it is only my second system with linux i'm on mandrake 10.0 and am trying to install sendmail.
Its telling me i have to make all the files before i build the program and i cant figure them out any one that can point me at a good step by step for install sendmail8.13 to a linux box please help
