Hi,

I'm running sendmail 8.12.10 on SuSE 9.0.

I also have imapd listening for pop3 and imap over SSL using cleatext passwords.

From the WAN, I can send and recieve mail fine using clients like outlook and opera mail.

However from the LAN, I can only recieve mail - it fails to send.

I have altered /etc/mail/access to include the LAN IP range (aswell as the relevant WAN IPs) and rebuilt the hash, and restarted sendmail, and xinetd.

There are no apparent error messages in /var/log/mail or /var/log/messages.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Thanks

hmmmmm.... turns out zonealarm is blocking access.

Why is it you always fix it after posting a question !
Finally realised when telnet was not even working to port 80 ....

Cheers

in fact, for anyone who cares, it was not zonealarm's fault, but the fact that I had blocked norton antivirus (expired, won't uninstall) - from any internet access to stop the annoying update announcments. Anyway, once enabling this, it all works. Funnily enough, norton is now scanning my email, even though the licenesed (and legal) copy has expired.
