Hi all,

when I send mail, an extension will automatically appended
e.g. mail klins@home --> mail klins@home.aus.com

this configuration works fine for sending mails to my local network. however, problem occurs for the below situation
e.g. david is at david@office.usa.com
if I type mail david@office, the address becomes
david@office.aus.com instead of david@office.usa.com

does anybody knows how to fix it?
(NOTE : I MUST use david@office without .usa.com as it's the limitation of my program)

many thanks

As you've noticed, the standard sendmail configuration expands incomplete addresses assuming that they're local. I would suggest that it's not a good thing to change this behaviour.

You might be able to set up an alias in your mail s/w, that you're using to send the mail, so that david@office is expanded to the address you need.

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

I really suggest you to read the O'Reilly book [red]Sendmail[/tt].
I hope it works...
