Hello together

I have problems with my RED Hat 6.2 Linux Server and Sendmail

When I send Mails over my Website and Sendmail p.e to my private Emailadress "elvis.altherr@dplanet.ch" the following
Error appears in the var/log/maillog:

"DSN Data Format Error : Sender Domain must exist"

-> the Mails came from the user "nobody"

I also tried to masquerade the "localhost" Domain to my real Domain called "elvisaltherr.com", wich means, that the Sender's Mailadress shoud be "...@elvisaltherr.com"

Whats wrong?

Thank you very much for your help

Greetings

E.Altherr

Chances are that you don't have your 'MX' record set up yet on your DNS records. Your 'A' record should already have 'yourdomain.com' and ' , both with the same IP address. You can add 'mail.yourdomain.com' to your 'A' record. Then edit your 'MX' record to show that 'mail.yourdomain.com' handles mail for 'yourdomain.com' .

Hi "Rhythm Ace"

thxs for your help

I found the error:

--> it seems, that my private Emailadresse (elvis.altherr@dplanet.ch --> mx.dplanet.ch) or better the Mailservers behind dosen't support Relayin

after a changed the DNS Records and i try my buissnes Adress
Sendmail works fine now

Again thank you very much for your help

Greetings

Elvis
