The Sendmail on my server is trying to send all mail for a certain domain to the wrong domain. It is translating, or concatenating it, i.e. "mydomain.com" = mydomain.wrongdomain.com".

I am new to Unix/Solaris/Sendmail and the Sendmail.cf is so cryptic I cannot find where or how it is translating this. Got any ideas?

Best Regards,
Rob

hi,

check your domainname of your system by typing

domainname

if it is not your domainname , simply just type

domainname XXXXX

and check again.

Otherwise, check your file resolv.conf that it shows the following

domain XXXXX
nameserver YYYYY

XXXX should show your domain and YYYY your DNS server you using..

If it still fails , go to and try compling the config.mc to config.cf and replace the sendmail.cf , but please backup your sendmail.cf first..

cheers,
alan
