When I load sendmail or restart it after making changes it says that it cant find the popper file. my smtp is working fine iv'e tested it. but pop3 gives me an error. do you have to create a new popper file if so what does it include and what is the full path and file of this popper file?

or is there perhaps an alternative to using a popper file?

hi,
I am not sure that other sendmail will be the same, i am using Linux Redhat Sendmail.First thing to check is that your inetd.conf is enable for pop3. Second, is the particular user is configure to allow to use pop3. You can find that in /etc/group file. Check the pop3 group whether the particular user name exists in the pop3 group.
If all above correct, you may try to reinstall pop3 server because it may be cause by your pop3 server corrupted. I had experienced this before, after i install others program the pop3 server fail. Then, i just re-install the pop3 server from CD, everything back to normal.

Wish this can help you.
