After updating my aliases file, I ran the sendmail -bi command. This is the error messages I received:

WARNING: local host name (xxxxxx)not qualified; fix $j in config file
WARNING: Group writable directory /var/spool
WARNING: Group writable directory /var/spool/mqueue

I know I have seen this error message before and just do not remember how to fix. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Try adding your fully qualified hostname to your /etc/hosts file.

Instead of:
196.10.12.3 myserver

Change to
196.10.12.3 myserver myserver.mydomain.com

I knew I had seen that. That fixed the first error message coming up. What do the other 2 messages mean?

You don't need to worry about the other 2 messages. Its just telling you that the directories are set to read/write/execute for the group - these are the default permissions on AIX for those 2 directories.
