I have a question regarding sendmail and exchange. We use Outlook to send mail and the way it's configured is that all our mail goes to Exchange Server then it's routed to Sendmail to be delivered. We have remote site all over China and I have to make a config change to one of our site out in China to send mail straight to Sendmail...skipping the main Exchange Server. I'm not that savvy when it comes to using Sendmail. Any help or ideas would be appreciated....
Thanks....

Oh one more thing, every remote site has their own exchange server so I need to add an entry to Sendmail to accept mail coming from just that exchange server. Our main concern is with timely reports that come thru email and the process takes much longer if it goes thru our exchange server out in Chicago.....
Thanks

I think you need to add that address in the access file as a relay

x.x.x.x RELAY

Then :

After changing access file run makemap hash /etc/mail/access < /etc/mail/access
then restart sendmail (note: very important get direction of < correct!)

Thanks for responding, and thats what I kinda figured and found the same on google....but now i'm sure after your response.....once again thx much...

that was it. You need to make the change to the access file and then do #makemap -l to look at which map.
After that you run
#makemap dbm /etc/mail/access < /etc/mail/access

restart your sendmail....
