Sendmail 8.12.8 installation

Hi

I have Solaris 8 box. I have installed Sendmail 8.12.8. Its now working, but its by hook and crook.

I would like to come up with standard and simplified procedure of installing sendmail.

For instance:
1. download sendmail8.12.8.tar.gz

what are the steps. The most trouble some area is when you need to get the site files (.m4) and then to get it compiling access.db and mailertable.db.

Assist.
