sendkeys not responding

I am using sendkeys in a template, only the sendkeys aren't working! in Word 97 the command is:

SendKeys "%vzp~"

should set the page to fit the screen width.

what happens: nothing. no error, no resize.

when I step through the code, it hits the code but produces no error. rebooted and same thing.

Template was originally prepared in Office 2000, then brought to Office 97, can that bet the problem?

1) Does it also not work when you run the routine in "real time"?? A lot of things that work in real life don't work when you step through the code.

2) Have you tried another method other than send-keys?? If you're using Word, how about this?
