I remember awhile back our VM was setup so if we were not at our desk and got a new VM it would call our cellphone every 5 min or so until we listined to our VM. Its not working anymore and Im not sure how it wsas setup.

I tried putting my cellphone # in the outcalling phone #, but still dosnt work. Anything i should look for to see if its enabled?

thanks.

A few things to check. Make sure you ouctall schedule is set up and outcalling is turned on in the mailbox. This is done from the telephone, login to the mailbox then select, personal options, notification on/off - press 1, notification options - press 4

Or it could be that you don't have any ports set to allow outcalling in menu 4, or the dialing sequence in menu 6 is not correct.

k, i set the notification to 'on' on my phone

i looked at the ports and looks like its setup, although im not sure if im looking at it right

also in menu 6, it looks like how it was setup before, dont think anythings been changed since it worked before, not 100%sure tho.

how about below where i input the outcalling #, it says pager type, you can set it to either 0,1,2,3... what pager type should it be? i tried 1 but still nothing.

thanks for the help.

You would not put in a pager type if it is going to a cell phone.

Look in the online CDR and see if the system is trying to make the call.

If this is still not working, be sure to use pager type of zero.
You can also run a loopback port test to the cell number - this will disregard any schedule and just test the outcalling portion of the VM ports. When the Aria calls your cell phone answer the call and press the # sign. This will cause the test to fail right away and you can tell which outcalling port was calling. CDR works just as good on these ports too. Dont worry about the fact that the loopback test fails, cause the test is looking for another Aria system and since your cell phone isnt an Aria it will fail. We just use the outcall part of the loopback test to call lots of various numbers. Works good for cell phone testing, area code testing, pager terminal testing, etc., etc.

I've been working with the Octel 250 for about 6 months but I have not yet set up notification to a cell phone. When I'm looking at the VMB i noticed a couple of fields that are empty and I'm wondering if I need them filled in. 1) outdial AUTH code... where do I find one to use or do I just make on up and hope that it's not being used and how many charachters, number and/or letters?
2) outdial phone number... I'm assuming that's the cell number that I want to enter.

I'm aware of the need to setting up the notification schedule so my main question is: Do I need to fill in the AUTH code and with what?

Thanks for your help!
