My users need to send/receive email from 2 different domains with different emails (i.e. GJetson@spacely.com or GJetson@sprockets.com). I don't know exchange that well, so I set up Outlook 2k3 on each station to be able to send from either domain by choosing the account when composing the message. That works fine, today. I am retrieving email from both domains without issue (using the pop3 connector for now - which appears to be journaled properly from my tests).

Now I find I need to enable journaling, and it appears that mail sent from the local stations don't get journaled.

Is there a way to allow a user to send email via either domain? I'm on Small Bus. Server 2003 Standard.

Thanks,

Mike.

You mean other than the ways described in the many threads already posted here on this subject?
Apparently yes. I searched back over a year in this forum and saw nothing about sending from a secondary domain. I just today searched keywords and saw 3 or 4 threads that essentially say 'not with similar functionality to what I have now.'

If I am incorrect, then I apologize. Could you or another poster be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Thanks,

Mike.

When a user has multiple SMTP addresses configured for their mailbox, there is no native way of choosing which address a message comes from.

If you split the addresses out to separate mailboxes, and configure one as a POP3 account in Outlook, then a user can choose. Of course, that's not very efficient. POP3 is a very poor method to use for retrieving mail compared to just having mail delivered via MX record to the server.

There are also some third party tools that supposedly allow you to do this.
