sending undeliverable mails via mailx

hello,

i am trying to send an email with attachment to one address via mailx. however, i am now trying to change the script in such a way that if the mail is undeliverable on this address, it will then send the email to another email address.

is there a way to do this?

You could check to see if the mailx command line was successful or not, with $?.
When the mail has gotten to the server, mailx no longer cares what happened.
