USe MFC Classes CDatabase and CRecordset.
Inside you have everything you need for your purpose. The method names and their way of working resembles a lot with ADO if you are familiar with this one.
You could use the straight APIs from ODBC32.Dll but they are a lot more complex and human friendly.
