Hello everybody,

I have writen some software that sends and recieves data on one ethernet card, however i would now like to have the ability to receive on 1 ethernet card and send out on a 2nd ethernet card, i have looked at sobindtodevice, however SGI IRIX doesn't seem to have that option, and am not sure how to proceed.

Thanks for any help you experts can give

Jason

Both nic are connected to different netoworks, both have differnt ip. I am using udp protocoal for my application.

Just guessing here, but simply by specifying the IP address at the protocol level should be enough to cause the correct network card to be selected at the network level.

Seems to work OK when I choose a network address (goes via the NIC), or 127.0.0.1 (goes via the loopback).

Thanks for the help, i will see if that works, will it work if the 2nd nic should send data out to a broadcast ip
