Sending online mail

Is it possible to send mail via online mode, without a network server in house? If so, how? Any assistance is greatly apperciated!

Not sure if I completely understand your question but here goes:

1) If you don't have a GroupWise server (i.e. post office and POA) anywhere, then ther is no way to use the GW client in Online Mode. Online Mode means that the client is connected to a GroupWise post office.

2) If you do have a GW post office somewhere, but not at the location you are at, then you would need to set up the client to contact that server via TCP/IP. This can be done even over the Internet as long as the firewall at the server site allows port 1677 inbound.

That is it. I have the laptop set up for work, and I use the caching. But when I connect at home, I do not have access to my proxies. Is there a way to format it so I can. Also, when I send email in the format first.last@domain.com, it comes back as being unknown user. When I use my personal internet email account, yahoo, with the same email address it goes through. Is there a way to fix that?

Have you tried connecting to your network with a VPN if there is one? I did this from home and then used TCP connection with the GroupWise client and had direct access to my mail. Opening up the firewall port 1677 works also but I was not comfortable with that.
I finally set up GW Webaccess and added an entry in DNS to point to it so my users could just type webmail.domain.com and have access from a any browser.
