I have a client that is being a bit touchy. He has a Gateway 17" monitor....with a 16mb nVidia TNT2 64 video card (AGP). When I configure his monitor to turn off, it does...HOWEVER, he has a yellow light and a green light on his monitor....in effect, the video card is still sending a signal.....everything is working fine...he just wants the green light to go off when it goes to standby mode (Win98 SE on a 2.0Ghz Celeron Intel, 128MB RAM).

Any clever ideas for me?

Cheers!

Chances are, that's just the way the monitor is. How does it behave if the monitor is on, but not connected to the computer?

Okay...it appears that the sleep/standby mode on this monitor does work...however, one must shutdown completely, and then cold boot for it to take effect....simply restarting the machine didn't allow it to take effect.....go figure.....

Cheers!
