Hi,
Is there a tool or program etc that would help me?
I'd like to find something that would allow me to send a notification/message to any user that's connected to the server. These notifications could range from a simple shutdown message or an alert to any maintenance that's on going.

I don't want to send emails if I don't have to. I thought that the power tool tweak ui had something like this but it doesn't.

Surely I can't be the only one looking for such thing.

in a cmd32 windows
Code:
net send * This is my message...I want you all to know...I am taking over your computer. Muwahahahahahahaha!

Works with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows NT4 and above

Hope you found this post helpful

This works as long as the messenger service is running, this is dissabled by default in XP SP2.

But enabling it, would be the way to acheive desired retults.

Thank you both for the quick response.
One more thing to add to my bag-o-tricks.

If you run an exchange server, consider using the builtin instant messaging service.

A+, N+, MCSA:Messaging, MCSE

Any scripts that might help me with this? Like, one to turn on the messenger service?

TekJunkie01 how come it's not supported in 2k3 do they just tell you to use it through hotmail?
