Hello All,

wanted to know what would be the best way to send out mail directly to a mailhost(mailserver) from my server (sendmail server) no MX record pointing, I cant affford that. I put the destination mailserver name in my /etc/hosts and when i do a /parse it does not show up esmtp as the mailer and the host i'm expecting to be my detination server.

Any pointers geratly appreciated.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking correctly, but I believe you have a few options...

1.) Fully qualify the host you are trying to send to e.g. instead of user@domain.com use user@host.domain.com

2.) Edit your sendmail.cf file to setup that host as a smart host

3.) Recompile sendmail and disable DNS

Hope this helps.
