Hi all,

After setting up send mail step by step I receive the following error when testing

/etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 103: name required for mailer
/etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 103: M: A= argument required

Any help?

Thanks

did you set up the sendmail.cf by creating an mc file with your options or just edit sendmail.cf? what is on line 103 in your sendmail.cf?

sounds like you defined MAILER as null?

I just edit sendmail.cf
M is on line 103.
How to know that MAILER is null and how to config it.

Thanks

where did this sendmail.cf come from? why it has an M definition with no setting is a bit strange. did you go in and edit it removing anything or adding? try removing the empty M but I have to wonder if thats broken - what else is.

I would suggest you either revert to the default aix sendmail.cf file or build your own using a sendmail.mc file with the required macros. not sure that aix supplies a sample one anymore but you can find one by googling.

you can also read more here on the AIX sendmail.cf and the Mailer designation:

Thanks it's working. I just remove M.
