Sending FTP Commands

I need to be able to send commands to an FTP server running on MVS. I have been using the MFC FTP classes, and (for the servers I was connecting to) these were fine. But now, I need to be able to send "quote site ..." commands to the server immediately prior to putting a file. Am I missing something obvious, or does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this without having to rewrite the functionality already in MFC/wininet?

I'm no FTP expert, but could you derive from the MFC classes, and override the functions you need by adding your needed functionality, then calling the parent class function? Or, if the methods you need aren't overridable, could you derive, and add a method that calls the parent method? Seems that this could solve your problem.
