Hi,

The main project that is placed on the Windows 2000 Server (IIS5), is executed by clients using MS IE 6.0.

There is a "Members" table in a MS SQL database, This table has the fields of ID, MDNo, Name, Surname, Addres, Fax Number etc.

My aim is to send automatic fax messages to the members using a simple type PC fax-modem. The customised letter for every member is generated using MS ASP codes.

I would like to establish a small application, that sends the customized letters to the every member using its fax number.

I do appreciate if you share your ideas and knowledge...

Regards!

Also I do not want to use any kind of Fax Web Service on the Internet!

halukorhan1,

Your database server would some how have to contact or connect to the server/pc that has the modem. Since you have multiple phone numbers and faxes, there would have to be some kind of scripting or application that can package the documents and fax numbers to the PC to be sent out. Also some kind of queue would be needed to determine if the faxes were successful or if there were errors and what type of errors, line busy, human intervention, invalid number, etc..

I work as a fax administrator for a large company and most of the "fax server" applications use email to send out faxes. We also use T1 lines with 24 port modems for sending if you have large quantities of faxes.

Since you want to use "customized" letters, we use a mail merge into an Outlook document for each fax. The process is not simple for what you want to do and I suggest you get fax server software.
