Sending events from 3rd party tool to Unicnter Event Mgr

I am trying to send events from a 3rd party tool to Unicenter Event Manager. Although I could use an program to send an SNMP trap, I would rather use a higher level tool. I believe cawto can be used? If so what else do I need on the source machine to use this command? Or is there another way to achieve the same result?

Yes, cawto should be able to do what you need. TNG will need to be installed on that server (as far as I know) and then you can use the cawto to handle the event.

If it's a *nix server, you could probably use "logger" and set up the specific messages so they go to a remote TNG server that can handle the event.
