Is it possible to use Lotus Notes to send emails. If yes how would I do it?

Thanks

Saqi

Hi Saqi,

don't know the details, never used Notes - here's some reference from :

Email Support Lotus Notes provides messaging capabilities through Notes mail, which includes the popular cc:Mail user interface. Notes supports the Vendor Independent Mail (VIM) interface. The SAS System lets you send email either interactively or through the DATA step or SCL code. Similar to the NOTESDB access engine, the SAS System provides an EMAIL access engine. To send email from within the SAS System, choose Send... in the File menu. Note, if you are using the SAS System in a Microsoft Windows environment, make sure the following option is either in the config.sas or on the SAS System invocation
Code:
line:-emailsys VIM
This option instructs the SAS System to use the VIM libraries as opposed to the Messaging Application Interface (MAPI) libraries, which is the default value when running on a Windows platform.
Figure 1 shows which version of Notes is needed for the release of the SAS System you are using. For more information about sending email from within the SAS System, refer to the SAS Companion which is available online, starting with Release 6.11.02, by choosing SAS companion in the Help menu.

Cheers,
Matthias
