Sending Digits thru a vmi to a fax server?

I have a mics with did's coming in. I have 4 ports used for VMI. The fax server takes the digits being passed thru and routes the faxes to folders. The only thing that is being sent through the VMI is the ext of the VMI. How do I program these to send the digits being sent through? Thanks for your inputs.
