We have a marketing guy who is trying to send out emails to around 100 recipients at the same time but they are failing. He reduced the recips down to 50 and it still failed. I've checked the recipient addresses and they are ok. Is there a limit to the number of recipients you can add to an email or is this a SPAM detection issue?

I've posted another question about smarthosts, would this also help with our problem?

"Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary, and you can probably get a career in it.
Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things."

The undeliverable report says that delivery has failed to all the recipients because "the format of the recipients email address isn't valid" This message is displayed for each of the 50/100 recipients and the email address used is valid and in the correct format.
