Hello gentlemen and ladies,
I am installing a "ProtegeVoice" office voice system that programs via serial port with Procomm Plus V4.8 and terminal emulation for a TVI950 video terminal.

To add a mailbox most entries are type it in and go. However to change a mailbox type they want you to press and this is how it shows in the manual <ALT+Y> I assume they want me to press ALT & Y simultaneously obviously this will do nothing in Procomm as it does not transmit the ALT key. I noticed if you go into "doorway" mode it is supposed to send and it does send 00 15 that is was is displayed in the monitor window that I have opened. I have no idea what 00 15 is. The programming manual for the voice mail does know of the ALT key conflict and suggests a solution but Im not sure what they are saying see the following cut and pasted text

to program a key to emulate the ALT key on
the programming computer, send the following character
string:
[Ctrl+A][K][Ctrl+M]
The ALT key and REFRESH commands are available
from any programming screen. The Procomm
2.4.3 version available from Sprint Products Group,
Inc. comes with the REFRESH and ALT keys already
programmed. To REFRESH a screen using this version,
press [Alt+1]. To emulate the ALT key, press
[Alt+0].

Thanks for any help anyone may have..

I've not had much, really any, exposure to doorway mode in the past. I had a script from the DOS version on my website that hacked doorway mode into that version and it appears that the correct sequence is being sent. Two things that I can think of - is the remote side configured to accept such requests (have to talk to a sysadmin there) and what emulation are you using in Procomm? Based on the script comments that I read, it looks like you may need to use the IBM PC emulation for doorway mode to work properly, but I'm not sure that is correct since the right sequence is being sent.

I don't know about doorway mode, but you can try:

Code:
sendkey ALT 'Y'
