I have a need to distribute some reports AS ATTACHMENTS to e-mails.

The process is that on selecting the reporting function from a command button on a form a pop-up form appears and collects some specific data for the report including the circulation list.

The report then previews on the screen.

I'd then like to send this off to the recipients. ( Thier email addresses are held in a table and available.

Is there a way of doing something like a SENDOBJECT and attaching a previewed report rather than sending a saved object.

Hi

A bit wasteful because it will run the report again, and you would have to be sure data could not change in the interim, but...

DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, stDocName, acFormatRTF,..etc

putting your report name in stDocName should do it Regards

Okay Ken I'll give that a try.

I was convinced it would be possible ( easy even ) but not having been confronted by this particular challenge before I thought I'd use the Tek-Tips resource to 'test the waters'.

Thanks Ken,

I've had a chance to try that out and it works exactly how I wanted it to.

I can't think why - but somehow I'd got it into my mind that SendObjects would put the thing into the body of the report rather than as an attachment as I wanted.
Put it down to too long staring at the same project !

Anyway - as the pop-up screen says :-

Thank you for letting KenReay know this post was helpful.

( Even if we aren't supposed to mentions the purple pointy things any more ;-) )
