If you go into administrator tool and then terminal server administration you can see who is logged into your terminal server. If you right click on the name you can send a message....

I would like to change the amount of time a message stays on the screen that I send out to workstations that are logged into a terminal server session.

The problem is that I send a message to some of the users but they are away from their machines and never get the message. By default it stays on for around a minute then disappears. I need it to stay on their screen until they have read the message and then have clicked on the ok button.

Thanks in advance :>

what is the exact syntax I would use if I wanted to send a message to a user.

Net send ???????????????????????????????????

I type net send /? and can not get a message to send. Thanks

This works on W2K and later. Go to a dos box, type net send and after that put in the netbios name, or the username in ad. After that type the message and finally hit enter. DO NOT hit enter till all done.

C:\net send username this is a message.
Then hit enter.
The user will see a pop-up Message from sender "This is a message." Glen A. Johnson
